1.) Ich traf den Winnetou heut an der Ecke,
er rauchte wiedermal ganz mit Bedacht!
Statt Friedenspfeife nun mit Zigarette,
so hat er Rituale neu erdacht!
2.) Old Shatterhand fand Winnetou erbauend,
solch Team Rot-Weiß reißt Mauer-Wände ein,
Der Winnetou wie’n Adlerauge schauend,
konnt in der Wildnis stets der Späher sein!
3.) Der Weiße Mann stieß Winnetou nicht ab,
denn Shatterhand der kämpfte stets für ihn,
Er brach für Rot-Weiss Freundschaft jeden Stab,
und hat dafür stets Ehre ausgelieh‘n!
4.) Ich traf den Winnetou heut an der Ecke,
er rauchte wiedermal ganz mit Bedacht!
Statt Friedenspfeife nun mit Zigarette,
so hat er Rituale neu erdacht!
5.) Der Winnetou als Häuptling der Apachen,
der tritt mit seinem Pferd für Frieden an!
Mit Silberbüchse ist ihm Sieg beschieden,
Als Blutsbruder von Shatterhand und Mann!
6.) Der Winnetou ward bald zum edlen Wilden,
sein Schweigen ist Verkündigung von Mut,
Er kämpft gern gegen Unrecht, und Unbilden,
er zeigte Tapferkeit aus Kriegerblut!
7.) Ich traf den Winnetou heut an der Ecke,
er rauchte wiedermal ganz mit Bedacht!

so hat er Rituale neu erdacht!
8.) Der Winnetou kam bald auch mal nach Dresden,
sein Freund hat es ihm wirklich angetan!
Beeindruckt, kam er angereist vom Westen,
die Freundschaft durch Besuche fest umrahmt!
9.) Der Winnetou stand vor der Frauenkirche,
solch Gotteshaus hat er noch nie stehn seh‘ n!
Noch nie sah er solch Wunder bei der Pirsche,
noch hat er solch Wunder je geseh‘ n!
10.) Ich traf den Winnetou heut an der Ecke,
er rauchte wiedermal ganz mit Bedacht!

1.) I met Winnetou on the corner today,
he smoked again very carefully!
Instead of a peace pipe now with a cigarette,
this is how he reinvented rituals!
2.) Old Shatterhand found Winnetou uplifting,
Such a red-white team tears Mauer-walls,
Winnetou looks like an eagle’s eye,
could always be the scout in the wilderness!
3.) The White Man did not reject Winnetou,
because Shatterhand always fought for him,
He broke every stick for Red-White friendship,
and always took credit for it!
4.) I met Winnetou on the corner today,
